I loved the popular game show, “The Price is Right,” where contestants strive to guess the correct price of various items to win prizes. I know the game show is still on today, however it is not the same since Bob Barker is no longer the host. The other day the thought came to my mind about how similarly some people want to put a price on salvation, but it is priceless and non-negotiable. This religion will tell you the price for salvation is to win the struggle over evil, while another says the price is to Jewish law and customs, yet another says the price is to must purify himself from evil in life, after life, after life.
God demonstrated the ultimate act of love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. This sacrifice paid the price for our sins, offering salvation freely to all who believe. (John 3:16) Despite its immeasurable value, some hesitate to accept this gift, preferring to rely on their own efforts or seeking a “free” alternative.
However, salvation isn’t about getting something for nothing; it’s about recognizing the immense cost paid on our behalf and humbly accepting God’s grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Just as the contestant on “The Price is Right” must trust their instincts and take a leap of faith, we must trust in Jesus and believe in His finished work on the cross.
In a world where people crave freebies but are wary of hidden costs, we must boldly proclaim the truth that salvation is freely available to all who believe. (Romans 10:9-10) We can share the gospel with compassion and urgency, knowing that eternal destinies hang in the balance. Just like contestants eagerly guess the correct price of items, we have the privilege of offering the priceless gift of salvation to those around us.
Imagine if we approached sharing the gospel with the same enthusiasm as contestants guessing the price of a coveted prize. Here are some unique and creative ways to do this every day:
Living out the Gospel: Let your life be a living testimony of God’s grace and love. Show kindness, compassion, and forgiveness to those around you, reflecting the character of Christ in your words and actions.
Prayer Walking: Take intentional walks through your neighborhood or community, praying for the people you encounter. Ask God to open doors for you to share the gospel and be sensitive to His leading in conversations.
Random Acts of Kindness: Surprise someone with an unexpected act of kindness, whether it’s paying for their coffee, offering to help with groceries, or simply offering a word of encouragement. Use these opportunities to share the love of Christ and invite them into a relationship with Him.
Digital Evangelism: Utilize social media platforms to share your faith through posts, stories, and messages. Share verses, testimonies, or encouraging words that point others to Jesus. Engage in meaningful conversations with friends and followers, offering hope and truth in a digital world.
Inviting to Church or Bible Study: Extend invitations to friends, family, and acquaintances to join you for church services, Bible studies, or small group gatherings. Create a welcoming environment where they can experience the love of Christ and hear the life-transforming message of the gospel.
Sharing Your Story: Share your personal testimony of how Jesus has changed your life. Be authentic and vulnerable, sharing both the struggles and victories of your faith journey. Your story has the power to resonate with others and lead them to Jesus.
Praying with Purpose: Make prayer a priority in your daily routine, praying specifically for opportunities to share the gospel and for the hearts of those who need to hear it. Trust God to open doors and provide divine appointments for you to speak truth into the lives of others.
Remember the story of the rich man in hell who pleaded for someone to warn his family. (Luke 16:27-31) His desperation underscores the importance of sharing the gospel and rescuing others from the torment of eternal separation from God.
As Christians, let us prioritize sharing the good news of salvation with the same fervor and compassion as other acts of service. Whether feeding the hungry, serving in missions, or extending kindness to others, let us also seek to save souls from the grip of sin and death.
Salvation is the most valuable gift we could ever receive, and it’s available to all who believe. The gospel is the most valuable gift we can offer to others, and it comes with no hidden costs or strings attached. Let’s boldly proclaim the truth of salvation, sharing it with compassion and urgency, knowing that eternal destinies hang in the balance. As we faithfully sow seeds of faith, may God bring forth a bountiful harvest for His glory. As Christians we can embrace this priceless gift with gratitude and share it boldly with others, knowing that the price has already been paid by the blood of Jesus Christ.
