In an ever-changing world, the need for a Great American Restoration, centered on the Bible’s enduring relevance, has never been more critical. This restoration is not merely about the past but pertains to our present lives, our role as “salt and light” in our communities, and addressing the pressing issues of our time. It also connects us to America’s founding principles and its impact throughout history.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
In my opinion the Bible is the key to restoration of our country. The Bible serves as a guide for our personal lives, providing wisdom, direction, and moral grounding. It helps us understand our identity and purpose in Christ and equips us to live as devoted followers of Jesus (Psalm 119:105).
One day while I was out on a sales call with one of my representatives we had a discussion about our faith. She was Catholic and I was Baptist so we spent time asking each other questions about what we believed and why we believed what we did.
I was shocked when she shared with me that she had never read the bible and did not even have one. She said that the priest told them what the Bible said and taught them how to apply it. I ask her if she would be willing to read the Bible if I gave her one and she said yes.
I of course gave her a bible and suggested that she read the book of John in the New Testament. In a couple of weeks she came into my office to tell me that she had read the book of John and that she had ask Jesus into her heart.
My conversation with her did not change her mind about what she believed but the WORD OF GOD did. I think we need to get back to giving everyone a bible, using them in our bible studies and handing them on Sunday morning to have them read the WORD, see the word for themselves, hear the word and allow the Holy Spirit to move in their hearts.
Revival often begins with a return to the Word of God. When individuals and communities immerse themselves in Scripture, hearts are stirred, and lives are transformed. It’s through the Bible that we encounter the living God and experience spiritual renewal (Psalm 85:6).
In Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus calls us to be the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” The Bible guides us in living out these roles, influencing our communities positively and pointing others to Christ.
Scripture: Proverbs 14:34 (NIV) Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.
The Bible played a significant role in shaping America’s founding principles. It inspired the values of liberty, justice, and equality before God, as reflected in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
Throughout American history, the Bible has continued to influence individuals and movements advocating for civil rights, social justice, and moral reform. Leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and William Wilberforce drew inspiration from its teachings.
As we face contemporary challenges, the Bible remains a source of guidance for addressing issues such as racial reconciliation, poverty, ethics in leadership, and caring for the marginalized (Micah 6:8).
The Great American Restoration begins with a restoration of our hearts and minds through the timeless truths found in the Bible. It is not a return to the past but an embracing of the enduring relevance, power, and influence of God’s Word in our lives, communities, and nation.
Let us heed the call to immerse ourselves in the Scriptures, seeking personal transformation, revival, and a renewed commitment to being “salt and light.” May we also draw from the Bible’s rich legacy in shaping America and allow it to guide us in addressing the pressing issues of our day. In doing so, we participate in a restoration that brings hope, healing, and renewal to our great nation.
