Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) – “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

As believers, we are called to walk in the footsteps of Christ, embracing a life of purpose and service. Yet, our Heavenly Father’s plans for us go beyond mere compliance with His directives; He invites us to surpass the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary. In the realm of faith, we have been granted the incredible privilege to outperform what God has asked of us.

The apostle Paul, writing to the Ephesian church, reminds us of God’s boundless capacity to exceed our expectations. The divine power that dwells within us empowers us to achieve immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. The Christian journey is not one of mediocrity or minimalism; it is a call to rise above the ordinary and step into the realms of the miraculous.

Consider the story of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30. The master entrusted his servants with varying amounts, and those who went beyond the expected, who multiplied their talents, were commended. Similarly, God calls us to take the talents, gifts, and opportunities He has provided and multiply them for His glory. We are not limited to mere obedience; we are invited to demonstrate the limitless potential of a life surrendered to God’s purpose.

It is important for Christians to embrace a Growth mindset. Cultivate a mindset that seeks to grow, learn, and improve in every aspect of your walk with God. Strive to exceed your previous spiritual milestones and cultivate a deeper intimacy with Him.

If you are going to serve then do it with Excellence. That means we should approach every task, whether big or small, with a heart to serve and honor God. By giving your best effort, you showcase the greatness of the God you represent.

Stepping out in Faith can be scary but it is necessary. Be willing to step beyond your comfort zone when God calls you to do so. Obedience to God’s prompting can lead to opportunities for impact that you may have never imagined.

The first step in this process is to seek Wisdom and Knowledge from God. Continuously seek to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and His will for your life. The more you know, the more effectively you can serve and minister to others.

I believe this is a lost art but one that needs to be restored, Invest in Relationships with others. Outperforming expectations also involves investing in relationships. Show Christ’s love through genuine care, compassion, and support for others.

Thank God for entrusting you with the privilege of being His vessel here on earth. May we not only fulfill the tasks He set before us but also exceed them in ways that bring glory to His name. I pray that He will empower us with His Spirit to step beyond our limitations and boldly embrace the extraordinary plans He has for us. May our lives be a testament to His immeasurable power and grace.
